Press Conference at Manhattan Social Club - 18th March 2004
A press conference, officially inaugurating the Roadshow initiative, was held on 18th March at the Manhattan Social Club (in Warsaw).
Journalists attending it expressed their positive opinion and willingness to support our project.
Poland's EU admission is a milestone in our history. It is also another moment of greater interest
in Poland - and in Polish economy. As our history proves, there will not be another opportunity of this
kind. We must make the best use of this period, so that the greatest possible number of foreign investors,
decision-makers, companies and capital seeking new markets consider and choose Poland as the best
candidate state for development of their businesses. That is why the Polish economy - Polish companies
and achievements - must be intensively promoted in the EU states. One of such initiatives, financed by
companies supporting the promotion of Poland, is the series of foreign Roadshow conferences presenting
the achievements and successes of companies operating in Poland as well as the advantages of Polish
economy.
The honorary patron of the Roadshow initiative is the Confederation of Polish Employers [Konfederacja
Polskich Pracodawców]. Moreover, patrons of our next forum in Germany include the Polish Agency for
Information and Foreign Investments [Polska Agencja Informacji i Inwestycji Zagranicznych], the
Association of Polish Cities [Zwiazek Miast Polskich], Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Berlin and
the Young Business Council [Rada Mlodego Biznesu].
"Aware of the significance of economic promotion of Poland these days, we find it purposeful and
advisable to support, in any form such as pronouncing positive opinions or making proposals of
co-operation to Polish institutions whose mission concerns the Polish economic interest and its
promotion abroad. Moreover, we enormously care for support - professional and personal - of the
media so that together with us they support the idea of promoting Polish economy through all
initiatives, including Roadshow. Because Roadshow needs such support. And Poland needs Roadshow!" -
that was the creed of our meeting with journalists.
